Philippine Investment Alliance for Infrastructure


The Philippine Investment Alliance for Infrastructure (PINAI) is a 10 year, closed-end fund, dedicated to equity investment in Philippine infrastructure.

The fund had its first and final close in July 2012, reaching its PHP26 billion (approximately US$625 million) target. PINAI is closed to new investors.


PINAI will invest in unlisted equity and equity-linked infrastructure projects and businesses in the Philippines. PINAI will seek to invest in a portfolio of greenfield and brownfield projects across the infrastructure sector, including:

  • Public-private partnerships
  • Water and waste
  • Roads, rail, and other mass transit
  • Ports and airports
  • Power generation, transmission, and renewable energy
  • Gas distribution and
  • Telecommunications infrastructure.


The manager of the fund is Macquarie Infrastructure Management (Asia) Pty Limited Singapore Branch (MIMAL), a member of Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets (MIRA).
